🏨 INTRODUCING HABBO HOTEL: ORIGINS!
After discovering an old decrepit server with some long-lost files at the beginning of this year, over the past six months or so long-time Habbo developer and player Macklebee has lovingly restored an old version of Habbo Hotel first released in 2005.
After a lot of hard work from Macklebee and the team, we’re now ready to take you back in time to Habbo’s roots. Tomorrow, we’ll be opening the doors to Habbo Hotel Origins: an iconic version of an iconic game with a fresh, community-led approach.
🎉 TOMORROW’S LAUNCH
You’ll be able to launch the client from the Habbo Hotel Origins website (we’ll share the link with you tomorrow). Registration will require an email and a password, and to login you’ll need to enter a one-time code that is sent to your registration email.
We have three different hotels for three different languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Avatar names are on a first come, first served basis. Habbo Hotel Origins is an 18+ game, so it has less stringent auto moderation than Habbo.
We’ve put together a page with some frequently asked questions, please take the time to read it here.
🗳️ A COMMUNITY-LED APPROACH
The simplicity, charm and magic of that early version of Habbo are things we want to retain and protect, so we intend to be careful about what we add, and when.
This is where you come in. The InfoBus Park in Habbo Hotel Origins is being turned into a kind of democratic forum where we will ask important questions about the development and direction of Habbo. You will be able to vote on these questions, and the outcome will be binding.
We’ll hear more about the first poll and this new, community-led approach from Macklebee on the Habbo Hotel Origins website on launch.
🚪 SEE YOU IN THE HOTEL
It’s been very special to see Macklebee and the other developers working to make this launch possible, and watching it take shape. The Habbo team is beyond excited to see everyone get into the game and experience 2005 all over again.
In fact, you may even see the legendary Ksamra (originally known as armasK) in Finnegan’s Pub. He designed the pub himself back in the early 2000s!
